Pastor David L. Page

It was while serving in the U.S. Army in Bamberg, Germany, that Pastor David L. Page accepted his call to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.  He believes his service in the military prepared him well for his service in ministry. Commitment to a cause greater than himself, perseverance through adversity, willingness to be guided by a higher authority, and leadership skills are just a few of the lessons he learned in the military that have enabled him to become a humble and faithful servant of God and a strong pastoral leader.  He excelled during his thirteen years in the U.S. Army Finance Corps, receiving the Meritorious Service Award, three Good Conduct Medals, and three Honorable Discharge Awards.  During his military career, Pastor Page had the opportunity to preach and teach the gospel in both Europe and Asia.

In 1989, Pastor Page felt led of God to join Eastern Star Church, where he was soon appointed worship leader at one of the two morning services.  In 1995, he joined the church staff, serving for three years as the Associate Pastor of Outreach and Foreign Affairs.  It was under his leadership that several programs were initiated and flourished, including Eastern Star’s Prison Ministry, Thanksgiving Basket of Love, Christmas Under A Star, and the rebirth of the Eastern Star Health Fair.  In 1998, Pastor Jeffrey A. Johnson, Sr. promoted Pastor Page to the position of Special Assistant to the Senior Pastor, which allowed him to travel nationwide with Pastor Johnson to conferences, revivals and workshops, and acts as liaison with other churches and organizations, while also directing Eastern Star’s Pastoral Care, Counseling & Visitation Ministry.

In January 2007, Pastor Page was chosen to serve as senior pastor of New Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana.  There he is providing vision and leadership as he shepherds this congregation into God’s mission for the twenty-first century and the goal of making New Baptist truly “A Place of Hope.”

Pastor Page received an Associate of Science degree from Vincennes University, earned a B.S. in Business Management from Indiana Wesleyan University, and seeking a Master’s degree in Theological Studies from Anderson University.  Pastor Page is a devoted husband and father. He and his wife Sandra (Murphy) are originally from Bennettsville, South Carolina. Married for over twenty years, they have three daughters: Jessica, Faith and Stephanie.
